On new version, I see now this is build in, and works better to some extend as in it recognizes the flat surfaces, meaning you can pick up eges etc. Then export to a sat file and import to Inventor. The best way I found is to use "Mesh to solid" program, convert the file to 3Dm, and import it to inventor, no hassle, file ready to edit. Please take a look at Fusion and the A online control panel. Yamba caparicaįusion is an evolution on Inventor, and can import and work with STL files directly. If you are used to Inventor, Fusion feels very logical and has a quick learning curve. Use it as your design program instead of Inventor with a full or student license, or use it with a student license and just as a convertor for STL files, it's up to you.

I just downloaded and installed fusion and Im having trouble trying to import the stl file in. I also tried to use the new design from file but it still doesn't work. After some googling, the left plane is the data panel which opens up the projects and the samples. Double click on any of the projects and you should be able to see the upload button.
